FAQs
Compass Rose Student Housing
When should I submit my application?
It is advisable to wait until you have been accepted to your chosen school before applying for housing. This is because our application and administration fees are non-refundable. Once you have received your school acceptance, you may contact us for assistance with your housing needs. After this, you can submit your application to us. If you plan to live with friends who will be attending the same school, please indicate this on your application and ask them to include you on theirs as well. Are there any fee(s) to submit my application?
Yes, there is a $50 non-refundable application fee. This fee covers the cost of conducting necessary background checks on you and your guarantor. What other fee(s) may I incur?
In addition to the application fee, there is a $180 secure your spot fee. This fee is refundable up to 30 days before your move-in date should your housing plans change. Will I need to bring any furniture?
Furniture is provided in the apartment, including living room, dining room, and bedroom furnishings. Twin beds are supplied, and appliances such as stove, refrigerator, washer, and dryer are included. Heating and air conditioning are also provided at a budgeted cost. What money am I responsible for if my roommates don't pay their rent?
You are not responsible for your roommates' rent. Each student has their own lease terms, meaning every tenant is solely responsible for their personal share of the rent. What is shared housing?
Shared housing is a cost-effective living option that allows students to reside close to campus while maintaining a student-focused atmosphere. It typically involves four or more students from the same program living together in an apartment-style environment.Does this mean I have a roommate in the same bedroom?
In our standard shared setup, you will share a bedroom with another student attending the same school. If you wish to room with a specific friend, you can list their name on your application as a roommate request. We will do our best to accommodate such requests. Otherwise, we will pair you with a student based on the information provided in your applications. Will I get my primary preference, such as a private bedroom?
All requests, including those for private bedrooms, are accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. Private bedrooms are typically limited in availability. We recommend completing your application and paying the secure your spot fee promptly to increase the likelihood of accommodating your preferences. Housing options are categorized as compact, core, deluxe, and premium. Is the shared student living situation offered co-ed?
Currently, we do not offer any co-ed shared housing options. After I submit my application, what can I expect?
Upon receiving your application, we will initiate the approval process. Once approved, you will receive an email with instructions to access your account and pay the required secure your spot fee.
